The$ use$ of slang words among te$e$nage$rs is curre$ntly ve$ry wide$spre$ad so that almost all te$e$nage$rs use$ slang words in e$ve$ryday life$ and on social me$dia Face$book. The$ use$ of slang words can make$ it difficult for the$ othe$r pe$rson to unde$rstand, e$spe$cially for pe$ople$ who are$ not use$d to slang. This study use$s a qualitative$ de$scriptive$ me$thod with a data colle$ction te$chnique$ in the$ form of a lyric on title$d “All The$ Small Things” and “What My Age$ Again” on E$ne$ma of the$ State$ Album (1999).

The$ data colle$ction te$chnique$ was carrie$d out by liste$ning lyric on Youtube$ and Spotify. The$se$ slang words have$ as e$xplaine$d by the$ following e$xpe$rts Allan and Burridge$ (in Manurung e$t all, 2020) the$ory to divide$ slang words affirm that the$re$ are$ five$ type$s into Fre$sh and Cre$ative$, Flippant, Imitative$, Acronym, Clipping and take$n from Community Inggris Fabe$lia  (2022), name$ly offe$nsive$ slang, vulgar slang, and taboo slang.

the$ re$sults of the$ data analysis that the$ re$se$arche$r succe$ssfully total 13 (thirte$e$n) obtaine$d slang word on lyric “All the$ Small Things” and “What My Age$ Agains”, the$re$ we$re$ at le$ast 3 (thre$e$) slang words in the$ Fre$sh and Cre$ative$ type$ (prank phone calls, cops, roses), 2 (two) slang words in the$ clipping type$ (ain’t, you’ll), 2 (two) slang words in the$ acronym type$ (ADD, ID), 4 (four) slang words in the$ offe$nsive$ slang type$ (Nobody likes you when you're twenty-three, My friends say I should act my age, And you still act like you're in freshman year, Work sucks, I know), and 2 (two) slang words in the$ vulgar slang type$ (sodomy, and she took off my pants). For the$ Flippant slang type$, which is imitation slang, the$ re$se$arche$r did not find any data. The$re$fore$, to ge$t criticism and also give$ othe$r stude$nts the$ opportunity to find othe$r slang words, both in the$ same$ song and in diffe$re$nt songs. In addition, slang can also be$ use$d to conve$y me$ssage$s more$ concise$ly, cre$ate$ group ide$ntity, or e$ve$n as a form of humor in songs.
