Widha Adriana (2025), An Analysis Educational Value On Moana.
This study aims to analyze the types of educational values and character traits of the main characters in the Moana film. This study focuses on two research questions, the first is the types of educational values found in the Moana film and the character traits of the main characters in the Moana film. To answer these questions, the researcher used qualitative descriptive analysis by watching the film five times and analyzing the script using two theoretical frameworks. The first is the theory of Zaqiah and Rusdiana (2014:112) in their book Pendidikan Nilai: Kajian Teori dan Praktik di Sekolah, which outlines 18 national character values. The second is the Character Education Framework from the Indonesian Ministry of Education and Culture (Kemdikbud, 2017). Based on the analysis, the researcher identified 16 out of 18 educational values from the film, including: religion, honesty, discipline, hard work, creativity, independence, democracy, curiosity, nationalism, love for the homeland, appreciation of achievement, friendliness/communicativeness, love of peace, environmental care, social awareness, and responsibility. The two values not found were tolerance and love of reading. Furthermore, after classifying the educational values, the researcher analyzed the character traits of Moana, the main character, using the Kemdikbud (2017) framework. The findings revealed that Moana embodies five core character values: religious, nationalist, independent, mutual cooperation, and integrity. These results demonstrate that Moana is not only an entertaining animated film but also a rich source of educational and character-building values for young audiences.
