This research aims to analyze type of phrases in the song lyrics of Somebody’s Pleasure. This research uses descriptive qualitative with tree diagram theory from Bornstein with syntactical analysis. The data source for this research namely the lyrics of the song entitled “Somebody’s Pleasure” by Aziz Hedra. The result of this research that has been caried out that there are 5 types of phrases found in the song lyrics, which has 25 lines of lyrics. The researcher collected the data and present the type of phrases with tree diagram, and the phrase structure in detail. Based on the data above, it can be seen that the several types of phrases are NP (Noun Phrase) VP (Verb Phrase), PP (Prepositional Phrase), AdjP (Adjective Phrase), and AdvP (Adverbial Phrase). The data found were NP (Noun Phrase) = 10 data, VP (Verb Phrase) = 13 data, PP (Prepositional Phrase) = 6 data, AdjP (Adjective Phrase) = 3 data, and AdvP (Adverbial Phrase) = 1 data. From the results, the researcher found the total amount of data found by researcher in this research is 32 data. Furthermore, of the five types of phrases, the researcher found mostly verb phrase, namely 13 data. So, it can be concluded, based on the analysis that has been carried out that the verb phrase is one of the types of phrases for which the most data is found.
