This research paper aims to determine the effect of describing pictures on the speakingskill of the ninth grade students of MTs MA Nambo Picung-Pandeglang. This studyuses a quantitative approach with a quasi-experimental design research method, whichuses three concepts, namely, pre-test, treatment and post-test. which is where a pre-testwould be carried out before giving treatment, and treatment wouldbe carried out infivemeetings, after giving treatment, students wouldbe given a post-test to get theresults of this study. the result of data analysis, the resultshowed that mean of post-test both experimental and control class different are 79.00 and 63.75 and for the resultof t-test obtained sign score 0.000 ≤ α = 0.05. The result indicated the alternativehypothesiswasacceptedandthenullhypothesiswasrejected.thattheeffectofdescribing picturesis very helpful and easy forstudents to learn,thismedia canimprove students' speaking skills. Based on the findings in this study, that the mediapicture isvery useful for teachers toimprove students' speaking skills, and easy tolearnforstudents.
